ALCAS Conference Highlights
The ALCAS Conference wrapped up last month in Melbourne, and it was fantastic to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome newcomers to the Australian life cycle assessment community.
Since its inception in 2001, ALCAS has been the home for LCA practitioners, researchers, and sustainability professionals across Australia and New Zealand. This year's conference reinforced the growing importance of rigorous environmental assessment as industries face increasing pressure to substantiate their sustainability commitments.
Our team was well-represented: Isobel Hume provided updates on the LCAgMetrics project, Beatriz Reutter presented outcomes from the Rubus Berries project with Hort Innovation, and Tim Grant spoke on ARENA-funded LCA guidelines during the bioenergy session. The energy and depth of discussion throughout the three days reminded us why this community matters.
