Sustainability consulting
As expert sustainability consultants, we work with companies and individuals to provide an evidence base for all sustainability decisions.
LCA studies
As specialists in life cycle thinking, it is our duty to provide comprehensive LCA reporting and act as a reliable third party to critically review other LCAs.
Full LCA
A fully documented LCA comparing alternative scenarios with detailed data collection on the main elements of the study, a comprehensive inventory, methodology and interpretation of the results. The LCA reports can be delivered in an ISO compliant format and be put through an ISO critical review process to increase its quality and credibility in the marketplace.
Streamlined LCA
A streamlined LCA comparing different products across their life cycle with some documentation of assumptions and results. Generally not suitable for public disclosure without further work but provides the client with the information needed to commission a public disclosure LCA or make internal decisions of design or material selection.
Social LCA
There is growing societal recognition that companies are accountable for their entire supply chain. That means investigating social impacts throughout the product life cycle is an important value driver – and an opportunity to support sustainable innovation. To help companies understand social LCA we can provide a full analysis using our lifecycle thinking skills, social LCA-specific training and the Social Hotspots Database.
Critical review
An ISO-based critical review of your study to increase its quality and credibility in the market place.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
Our consultants will not only provide the full LCA report suitable for an EPD but will be with you every step of the way to ensure you have a successful submission.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are independently verified, ISO-aligned declarations that transparently communicate the environmental footprint of a product through its life cycle. They are increasingly required by procurement teams, regulators, architects, and corporate sustainability programs.
EPDs:
Follow international standards (ISO 14040/44, ISO 14025, EN 15804, PCRs)
Are globally recognised and comparable if using the same EPD system using the same PCR version
Support sustainable procurement and eco-design decisions
Enhance product differentiation and brand trust

Decarbonisation
For those on the trajectory towards net-zero, our dedicated team can provide the modelling as an evidence base to support your ambitious targets.
Climate Active
Our team can support you manage greenhouse gas emissions, achieve carbon neutrality and provide the life cycle analysis needed for your Climate Active Certification application.
Circular economy
At Lifecycles, we're driving the transition to a circular economy through rigorous technical analysis and strategic advisory services. Our work goes beyond theory—we deliver actionable insights that reshape how industries design, use, and recover resources.
Technical analysis for circular systems
Our circular economy expertise is built on robust quantitative methods. We conduct comprehensive Material Flow Analysis (MFA) to map resource flows through industrial systems, supply chains, and entire economies. This approach reveals where materials are lost, wasted, or underutilised, enabling our clients to identify high-value circular opportunities.
Through MFA, we quantify material stocks and flows across:
Product life cycles and manufacturing processes
Urban metabolism and infrastructure systems
Regional and national resource economies
Waste streams and secondary material markets
This granular understanding allows us to model circular interventions - from product redesign to remanufacturing systems - and quantify their environmental and economic benefits.
Shaping infrastructure and policy
Our circular economy work has directly influenced major infrastructure planning and strategic decision-making. We've provided the technical foundation for resource recovery schemes and abatement programs that drive circular outcomes at scale.
Working with government agencies and industry bodies, we've developed circular economy roadmaps that inform:
Infrastructure investment priorities
Waste and resource recovery policies
Extended producer responsibility schemes
Whether you're designing a product take-back scheme, planning regional resource recovery infrastructure, or developing a circular economy strategy, Lifecycles provides the technical rigor and strategic insight to make circularity work.
LCA industry guidance
Lifecycles provide expert LCA guidance for practitioners and sustainability professionals across all sectors.

A core part of this contribution is the development of sector-wide LCA guidance and methodological frameworks that establish credible, defensible benchmarks for industry. By translating evolving international standards (e.g. ISO 14040/44) into practical, locally relevant guidance, Lifecycles enables consistent assessment approaches across jurisdictions, technologies and supply chains. This consistency is critical: without harmonised methodologies, benchmarking is unreliable and progress cannot be measured transparently over time.
A leading example is the ARENA LCA Guidelines for Bioenergy Projects (2025). These updated guidelines establish a comprehensive framework for assessing bioenergy systems in Australia, integrating advances in life cycle methodology, greenhouse gas accounting and international best practice. By creating methodological clarity and consistency, the guidelines enable ARENA-funded projects to deliver credible emissions reduction assessments that support funding decisions, policy development and technological scale-up.

We can work with your in-house specialist to provide support over the four stages of the LCA.
1.Goal & Scope
Get the project started on a clear footing to help establish the functional unit and reference flows, deal with allocations, identify a data collection strategy and set your system boundaries. Half a day is normally enough to go through this process. It can also be done with a group of key people to bring them into the LCA early on.2. Inventory
Help with structuring the SimaPro model and identifying appropriate data3. Impact assessment
Help with choosing appropriate indicators and characterisation models4.Interpretation
Support to pull out key conclusions and identify the most important sensitivities
