At Lifecycles, we’re proud to be an exception, with the majority of our talented scientific minds identifying as women.
To celebrate the United Nations International Day of Women and Girls in Science (11th February 2025), we asked some of our LCA Scientists what inspired them to pursue careers in STEM, hoping their stories will inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
Dr. Beatriz Reutter, Senior LCA Consultant: “I’ve always enjoyed solving problems and providing data to support informed, data-driven decision making.”
Lucille Wagner, LCA Consultant: “I have always been fascinated with understanding the ‘how?’ of everything which led me to study chemistry to try and understand the world at a molecular level.”
Dr. Isobel Hume, LCA Research Scientist: “I've always loved exploring the patterns and hidden systems that shape our physical world.”
Jamie Brown, LCA Research Scientist: “I was fortunate to be surrounded by a group of smart, like-minded friends in high school, which made pursuing a career in STEM feel exciting and accessible.”
Lucy Holden, LCA Research Scientist: “For me: biology and maths were my favourite subjects at school. I always knew I wanted to do something quantitative and being able to help businesses and governments make science-backed decisions to help combat climate change is very rewarding.”
