Assemble Studio | Bamboo Plywood Profile EPDs
Environmental Product Declaration of Assemble Studio's Bamboo Plywood Profile, 2025–26
Assemble Studio is an Australian designer and manufacturer of modular partition, furniture and storage systems, based in New South Wales and working with natural materials such as bamboo, timber, cork, straw and wool. Lifecycles was commissioned to develop an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for its bamboo plywood profile, the core building block of its demountable, reconfigurable partition systems. The underlying life cycle assessment was conducted in accordance with ISO 14040/44, ISO 14025, EN 15804+A2 and the applicable Product Category Rules for construction and wood-based products, quantifying environmental performance across the full life cycle of the profile, from bamboo cultivation and plywood manufacture through transport, installation, use and end-of-life.
Results for the client: Both the LCA and the EPD were independently verified and registered on the Australasian EPD Programme, giving Assemble Studio a transparent, internationally recognised environmental declaration to share with architects, specifiers and certification schemes. The EPD substantiates the low embodied carbon credentials of the bamboo plywood profile and provides the evidence base for Assemble Studio's positioning in commercial interiors, where demand for verified environmental data continues to grow under Green Star, NABERS and broader sustainable procurement frameworks. It also supports the studio's wider design philosophy of using rapidly renewable materials with full life-cycle accountability.
