Environmental Product Declaration of Bisalloy's Quenched and Tempered Steel Plates, 2024–25
Bisalloy is an Australian manufacturer of quenched and tempered steel plates, used in demanding applications such as heavy machinery, wear-resistant components, and protection and armour systems. It is Australia's only manufacturer in this category. Lifecycles developed a single Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) covering Bisalloy's full range of plates, including Wear, Structural, Armour and Protection grades, built on a life cycle assessment conducted in accordance with the relevant Product Category Rules for basic steel products. The assessment quantified environmental performance across the full life cycle of the products.
Results for the client: Both the LCA and the EPD were independently verified before being registered on the Australasian EPD Programme, giving Bisalloy a transparent, comprehensive environmental declaration spanning its entire product line. The EPD provides quantified, comparable data to share with specifiers, procurement teams and certification schemes, and the verified evidence base increasingly demanded under sustainable procurement frameworks, backing the positioning of Australia's only manufacturer of quenched and tempered steel plates.
