Neumann Steel | Reinforcing Steel Product EPDs
Environmental Product Declaration of Neumann Steel's Reinforcing Steel Products, 2024–25
Neumann Steel is a steel fabricator specialising in reinforcing steel products, including rebar and reinforcing mesh, operating three sites across Queensland and New South Wales. Lifecycles developed two Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) covering these product lines, each built on a life cycle assessment conducted in accordance with the relevant Product Category Rules for construction and steel products. The assessments quantified environmental performance across the full life cycle of the products, from raw material supply and fabrication through to end-of-life.
Results for the client: Both the LCAs and the EPDs were independently verified before being registered on the Australasian EPD Programme, giving Neumann Steel transparent, credible environmental declarations to share with architects, engineers and certification schemes. The EPDs provide the environmental transparency increasingly demanded across the construction supply chain, and the quantified, comparable data required under Green Star, NABERS and sustainable procurement frameworks, backing Neumann's products with rigorous, verified evidence.
Filipe Santoni, Environment & Sustainability Specialist at Neumann Steel, reflects on the value of this work: "We sincerely appreciate the invaluable support and expertise provided by the Lifecycles team in developing the Neumann Steel Environmental Product Declarations. Their guidance has been instrumental in ensuring transparency and quantifying the environmental information about the life cycle of our steel reinforcement products. We are proud of this achievement and grateful for the collaboration that made it possible!"
